Armed Drill is a military-style drill that is performed while carrying a rifle that is non-functioning. And although the rifles are not real weapons, cadets are trained to handle them with respect and consciousness. Cadets learn to handle the rifle with precision while executing movements and formation. They learn synchronization, uniformity, and professionalism. We go to drill competitions where we are judged on our standard movements, uniform, bearing, and rifle knowledge. We are also judged on our creative routines with rifle spins, tosses, and complex choreography.
