Battalion S-2: Safety

Hello, whoever is reading this. I’m Cadet Captain Isaac Waddell. Next year, I will be the S2 Intelligence Officer for Kearny High School. I am responsible for the security and safety of our battalion, as well as managing scholarships. Last year, during my sophomore year, I was part of the Armed Drill Team and participated in both armed and unarmed regulation competitions. I was the S2 Assistant and later the S3 Assistant. In my free time, I enjoy listening to music, hanging out with friends, and skateboarding. I also have a strong interest in anything related to engineering.

JROTC Career

I joined JROTC in the middle of my freshman year. I started as a private, just like any other cadet. During that year, I became a squad leader, and I also joined the Armed Drill Team. At the end of the year, I applied for staff, and I ended up as the S2 assistant at the beginning of my sophomore year. Then, in the 2nd semester, I became the S3 assistant. I also participated in a few competitions and later became the interim S3.

Academics

When I was 5 years old, I started going to Palm Lane Elementary all the way over in Anaheim. Later, after 3rd grade, I moved to San Diego and started going to Cubberley to start 4th grade. This is when I met a few of the friends I still have today. Then, in the middle of 5th grade, COVID hit, and this affected me all the way through 6th grade at Taft Middle School. My years at Taft were very important because I ended up meeting a lot of the friends I have now, but I also had to see a few move away. Soon after an eventful 8th grade year, I started going to Kearny, where I joined the School of Engineering, Innovation, and Design.
