Battalion Executive Officer

c/MAJ Brody Villegas

Greetings, I am Cadet Major Brody Villegas. This school year, I will be your Battalion Executive Officer. This means that I will be in charge of Staff and their day-to-day operation. Ensuring the work within the Battalion is completed correctly and promptly. Being the Second in Command, I have a lot of responsibility. Ensuring all Staff officers are getting the equipment and resources necessary to fulfill their duties. I oversee many of the Battalion's operations, including paperwork, awards, promotions, events, rosters, the website, and any other work that is related to with Staff. In my free time outside of JROTC, I like to participate in our school's Robotics team and am hoping to make a larger contribution this year. Besides that, I like to play video games, watch Baseball (Padres) watch TV, and go airsofting. I also collect and paint scale models and such. I enjoy spending time with friends when I am not busy. I also enjoy helping people out when I can.

JROTC Career

I started JROTC in the first semester of my freshman year. Like everyone else, I started as a Private (PVT) in 4th squad. That semester, I wanted to get more involved with the program and joined two drill teams: Regulation and Armed Drill. That semester, I received the Cadet of the Month award and received a promotion to Private First Class (PFC). Also, that semester, I received a job as the S4 assistant. The next semester, I received a large Promotion to Captain (CPT) as I was put in place as a Company Commander (CO) of Charlie Company. From there, I got more involved, joining Color Guard as well as Raiders that semester. The,n at the end of semester I received the position as the S1 for the 2024-2025 school year. About 2 or 3 months into the school year i was promoted to major and was given the position of the S3. i served my duty as the S3 until the end of the semester where i was given the position of the Battalion XO. from there i gained a lot of responsibility managing staff and planning events in the Battalion.

Academics

In 5th grade I received the presidential academics award. In middle school, I was also able to maintain a 4.0 for 3 years. I have maintained a 4.0 GPA during my freshman year here at Kearny. I have also received overall High marks on many different school projects, both individual and team. While taking collage classes i have scored extremely high marks and have a weighted GPA of 4.3. I will be participating in Fast track to take college classes at Mesa College, and will be participating in MFET to receive a manufacturing certificate.

Goals

My Goals for the Battalion is to get the Battalion to a place where we can be in the running to win the Stillwell and make Kearny a Powerhouse. I want to build discipline among cadets and get them more interested in participating more heavily in the program such as: teams, events, staff positions, and much more. I want to create a program where Cadets are excited to be in the program, because the more Cadets enjoy the program, the stronger we are.

Awards and Decoration

Other Achivements

I have made honors programs and advanced classes for 5 years. I started with advanced math classes in middle school making honors in that class along with all of my other classes. I have also started programs in the past with the idea to help with the environment and to make places look cleaner.
